New Life Worship Ministries

Ministering to others, both in the church and in the community, gives vitality to our faith.  We testify to the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ as we participate in these activities.

The Creative Arts Ministry of New Life MCC is a vibrant and central ministry. It is our goal and mission to help lead you to Jesus Christ through singing/playing of music, sign language, drama and any other creative way possible.

We are always looking for new faces to join us.  Do you sing?  Do you play an instrument?  Do you act?  Do you act up?  You're Perfect! Come join the fun!

The "DUO" Do Unto Others is an offering we collect to help the needy, the "Least, Last and Lost" of our community from within and outside the congregation.

The Meals2go Ministry prepares and freezes meals for the ACCESS/TACT organizations.  We provide a different menu each month, people volunteer to provide a portion of the meals, then cook their portion at home.  We then gather together to package the meals at church.  This is a great way for fellowship and to help our community at the same time.

Military Support Ministry provides support to NLMCC service members, partners and their families.  Several retired NLMCC military members work on the Military Support Ministry team to provide support, guidance and encouragement to military members, their partners and families. We understand that confidentiality is paramount for military members.  Hence, there are no recurring group meetings or listing of military members.  Individual private meetings are scheduled at mutually-agreed locations, as requested by the military or family member.

    Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) policy
    Maintain listing of gay friendly military organizations/publications:
        AVER -- American Veterans for Equal Rights (www.aver.us)
        HRC -- Human Rights Campaign (www.hrc.org)
        SLDN -- Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (www.sldn.org)
    Maintains up to date copy of Survival Guide/print for distribution.

They will also assist (if requested) with contacting SLDN for consultations and appointments.

We provide Ombudsman-type support to partners/families while the military members are deployed.  We are a friendly point of contact for the families left behind to deal with household emergencies/repairs.  We do this by providing information on Family Support Center programs; by assisting with education concerning re-integration, decompression and re-courting time after deployments; and by assisting with the Military Care Packages shipped to overseas-deployed military members

Our New Comers ministry smooths those waters leading you safely to the shore of community, your faith community at New Life MCC.  At New Life MCC we believe in and encourage all to be active participants in the Priesthood of all believers, to be actively involved in the mission and vision of the church.  A mission to reach, teach, and empower into wholeness through Jesus Christ.  Who?  The least, the last and the lost.

Wherever you are on your journey.... Just beginning your journey from the distant shore, the waters in between, or the safety of your new home shore, your new community of faith, our New Comers ministry can make your journey an easier one.

New Life MCC has a global focus to feed hungry children at Escuela de ICM, El Tamarindo (150 students) and Centro Para la Educacion Dominica & Orphanage, La Urena (310 students) in the Dominican Republic.

There is not enough money to feed all the children.  Many times there are no lunches at all. That's where you can help -- by donating your pennies, coins and dollars to the Prayer Pennies Ministry.  It takes less than $1 a day to feed a child.

Take an empty Prayer Pennies jar from the table in the hall, and bring it back filled with your loose pennies.  This is, and has been, an ongoing effort.  There is no due date for a jar: bring it back when it's full.

The Social activities ministry is responsible for planning activities such as game night, bowling, dances, and other fun things to do.

All are welcome.  We are always looking for people to join us with fresh ideas.

We are the first team to meet and greet folks as they arrive for Sunday morning worship.  Our duties are to:

    Greet new comers with welcome folders that explain our church community
    Pass out bulletins and name-tags
    Receive offerings for DUO and the general offering
    Makes a weekly head count of those in attendance for the service

If you enjoy greeting people and starting the worship service off with a smile this is the team for you.

At New Life MCC our worship service(s) are a community event, which means they involve members of our spiritual community.

Members of the Worship Coordination Ministry ensure each week that we have people who will read the Scripture, lead the community prayer and the Call to Worship, participate in prayers for others at anointing and during communion, acolyte, take up the offering as well as pray for the offering.

Historically, these duties have been coordinated by Students in Formation -- that is, divinity students who are getting practical experience in the ministry.  We are pushing these duties into the congregation.  Please join us!

Experience is not necessary to participate in worship services....only an open heart and willingness to serve.  There are behind-the-scenes duties, too, which may be more to your liking.
